Floating Along

by Balkanist Discourse

/

about

Trying to find solace within chaos.

lyrics

Laying in the meadow on the hill in the sunlight
Finally disconnecting from hyperanalysis and embracing the quiet
Just another one of those dreams again where I'm floating through the ether
Only to awake in this hole of despair with no hope and can't leave... back to work again

Watching as the quiet streams inches along with no schedule to maintain
Wanting just to float along in tranquility, no pressure to explain
Just wanna feel a little hope again, like I've got something left to live for
Cause lately I'm sluggish and bored and those screens take their toll and I'm scared ... of working til I die

It's hard to feel seen when we're forced to compete and compare while just trying to be ourselves

Wanting to float away into the clouds
Not just from work but from image and clout and superficiality
Curating ideas of who we are but only good moments... reality's not always glamorous or picturesque but cancerous

Could drink into the abyss but there's no point in running from your loneliness, no
Moments of joy are so fleeting so try to be present you don't want to miss those
Fractions of seconds where everything fades into nothing but ecstatic bliss
It's easy to compare ourselves to an image of success from others who are struggling like you
Beneath the surface there's depth; we just want to feel loved and for all that we are to shine through
I just wanna feel satisfied but my mind's always running.
Just want a moment of quiet
